Last month we sent an exciting update about successfully moving a founder population of 6 giraffe to Goo Moremi Reserve in Botswana.

Today we are back with good news:the giraffe have adapted beautifully to their new home! The team and rangers spot Goo Moremi’s new additions regularly, and the reserve is so proud to share space with these gentle giants.

In celebration, we also wanted to share a little “behind-the-scenes” short video of this historic project. Follow the link below to check out more of the action.

In Loving Memory
Around the same time as this relocation, the Save Giraffes Now team learned of the passing of a long-time friend and Chairman of the SGN Board, Mary Ellen Zellerbach. In her honor, one of the sweet female giraffe, was named Mary Ellen.
Now settled into her new home, Mary Ellen the giraffe is confident and curious – always keeping an eye out on her surroundings in the bush.
We are so glad to honor our dear friend in this way.
