Last week we told you about the little male calf that we are hand raising at Ruko Community Conservancy and the resources to support him, but did you know Save Giraffes Now and the team also had to construct a stable and paddock? Here is a glimpse of the space constructed to keep him safe overnight!
The stable itself is a staggering 3.7 meters (12 feet) tall which will allow the young calf to have a safe home as he grows – possibly up to a year and a half! The paddock allows an area for the calf to roam and graze on acacia leaves before he goes out to spend days with his giraffe family.
We are endlessly grateful to the entire team who rallied together, gathering supplies from all over Kenya and working day and night to have this stable up within a matter of days!
This growing boy is being hand raised by the team. He drinks multiple bottles of formula per day at a weekly cost of $185.
Please join us in helping save giraffe by buying this little boy a week of food!Â
