Emergency Giraffe Rescues in Kenya

Dear Giraffe Friends,

November has been a full month already for our team.

In a series of ongoing rescues, Save Giraffes Now, Kenya Wildlife Service, and Footprint Foundation are relocating giraffe from properties near Naivasha to Nairobi National Park as well as other protected reserves nearby. These giraffe have suffered significant land loss, and several of the properties they call home are being turned into commercial farms or massive real estate developments.

Further complicating matters, in the midst of these rescues this weekend, Save Giraffes Now received word from Kenya Wildlife Service about an emergency situation involving two giraffe in a different part of the country. The team immediately jumped in to help save them.

The two critical giraffe were successfully rescued, and the team has already returned to Naivasha to continue the translocations there.
