Empaash Rangers Take Another Step Forward – Thanks to You!
Dear Giraffe Friends,
Just a few months ago we wrote about an intensive ranger field training we arranged for the new community rangers at Empaash Olorienito Conservancy. We are very proud to share that since then the rangers have hit the ground running using their new skills to monitor and protect the Maasai giraffe as well as all wildlife that call the conservancy home.

Today we are back with another exciting update: the Empaash team just received their uniforms!
A full uniform not only provides the rangers with a sense of pride, but it also helps make their jobs easier. These brave men and women previously patrolled in regular clothes and shoes which did not offer protection from sun, dirt, rocks, thorns, or bugs. Boots, hats, and thicker clothing allow them to patrol longer and walk through areas they might not have otherwise been able to reach.
Because of your support, the Empaash rangers now have the tools they need to protect giraffe more effectively.

The team marked the milestone with a small tree-planting ceremony – and an extra reason to celebrate, as it also happened to be their manager Peter’s birthday!
The Empaash team celebrated both this special occasion as well as manager Peter’s birthday with a small tree planting ceremony.
We are proud of the Empaash team’s hard work, and we look forward to sharing more exciting news about this growing partnership with all of our Giraffe Friends!
