I am pleased to update you on one of our latest projects out of South Africa.
In recent collaboration with Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, who Save Giraffes Now partners with on giraffe work, four young southern giraffes were introduced into Care for Wild’s Protected Area. The introduction of these individuals is part of a larger giraffe introduction program that increases the genetic diversity of the current giraffe population as well as addresses the urgent need to protect giraffe populations against their drastic decline and silent extinction.
We thank Care for Wild for their dedication to multiple species and for partnering with us for giraffe!

In other project related news, I will be joining the Save Giraffes Now team in Kenya very soon to review current programs as well as meet new potential field partners. More updates to come when I return!
